The dns for the site seems to be a bit wonky. As in:
knew@artemis:~$ dig +short perlmonks.org 66.39.54.27 209.197.123.153 0.0.0.0 <===== knew@artemis:~$ dig +short www.perlmonks.org 0.0.0.0 <===== 209.197.123.153 66.39.54.27
Whoopsy *g*

    I'm looking into getting this fixed, however in the iterim I'd suggest users use perlmonks.net or perlmonks.com to access the site if they're experiencing problems. Those domains aren't suffering from the DNS issue at the moment.

    Update: The problem is fixed however it might take some time to propagate out to whatever DNS server you're using.

      Is this really fixed? Why the different responses below?

      fogey:~\$ for f in com net org; do echo Suffix: $f; host perlmonks.$f; + host www.perlmonks.$f; done Suffix: com perlmonks.com has address 66.39.54.2 perlmonks.com has address 209.197.123.153 perlmonks.com mail is handled (pri=0) by mail.egl.net www.perlmonks.com is a nickname for perlmonks.com perlmonks.com has address 209.197.123.153 perlmonks.com has address 66.39.54.2 perlmonks.com mail is handled (pri=0) by mail.egl.net Suffix: net www.perlmonks.net is a nickname for perlmonks.com perlmonks.com has address 66.39.54.2 perlmonks.com has address 209.197.123.153 perlmonks.com mail is handled (pri=0) by mail.egl.net Suffix: org perlmonks.org has address 66.39.54.27 perlmonks.org has address 209.197.123.153 perlmonks.org mail is handled (pri=10) by mail.egl.net www.perlmonks.org is a nickname for perlmonks.org perlmonks.org has address 209.197.123.153 perlmonks.org has address 66.39.54.27 perlmonks.org mail is handled (pri=10) by mail.egl.net

      My chatterbox history app is failing about one in three updates. That's leaving a lot of mail in my inbox from failed cron jobs. My newest nodes interface is having problems, too.

      90% of every Perl application is already written.
