I use my private scratchpad. I display my personal nodelet on every page -- it has just a few links (including one to my scratchpad.)
When I see a node I think I'll want to revisit, I use the "Add to priv pad" link in my personal nodelet.

Not two minutes ago I added another snippet to my pm_stuff.txt file on my PC. That way I've got a list of neat ideas that I can scan when I'm stuck. And I can't be logged into PM _all_ the time! | [reply] |

Since no-one else mentioned it yet: Browser Bookmarks. I keep quite a collection of them (I think the bookmark file is at 600k or so), and a bunch of those are in the "Computers and Internet", "Programming", "Perl", "Perlmonks" category ,)

As I understand it, one of the main points of this site is to be a repository of perl knowledge and wisdom, so it's already "filed away", so to speak. I suppose you could maintain your own archive of stuff, but frankly I don't see the point. | [reply] |

what do you monks do with the great question/answers you found in this site
I put them up on my homenode. My criteria is usually something along the lines of "Will I ever search for this node again? Does it have some information I will want to read about later?" And often it's not the node itself that I'm interested in, but the replies generated.

Others have made great suggestion and you can always just do
File > Save Page As
with you browser.

I colonized every available space to store bookmarks and browser bookmark managers are not really friendly... If only I could have a custom link in my personal nodelet built with the current node id, I would write my own Perlmonks Bookmark Manager... a link like this [http://mysite.tld/valdez/pmbook?%N|Bookmark this] (%N syntax borrowed from Custom Node Title Definition in User Settings).

What I do, is if I want to save a page because of the great discussion, I use the "print w/replies" link to get a nice page (without the chatterbox clutter), with the node_id at the top, so you can point others to the page as a url link. Then I locally save that page and put it in a catagorized directory of "doc's" which I keep. My only complaint, is ( on linux at least with Mozilla), these pages all come up with a name "index.pl.html" when I go to save them; requiring me to give a descriptive name of my own to the html file.
I'm not really a human, but I play one on earth.
