in thread Abigail-II and some thoughts

Incase I wasn't clear, it shouldn't be necessary for me to say what needs to be changed, and even if things were changed, the way people used their votes when they had them, and their insults, would make me know what kind of people I'd be helping, so I wouldn't.

Compare this community to LinuxQuestions.org. From http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/register.php?s=&action=signup:

This is *not* your average Linux forum. We are proud of the fact that despite of our growing numbers we continue to remain extremely friendly to both the newbie and the expert. When posting in the forum keep the following in mind:

Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated.

Flame Wars will not be tolerated.

Compared to that, Perlmonks is a hell hole, and Vroom is the devil.

If you want to take the moral high ground, clean up your own act before pointing fingers at others. Using those guidelines, this thread would have gotten you banned three times over, but like I said before, Vroom gives you far more freedom than others would (such as LinuxQuestions.org, apparently).
It's not immoral to say what I've said about the people I've said it to. Why do you defend the originators of the insults and tell me to clean up MY act when I call them what they called me? The difference is that I provide a reason.

If Vroom did what LinuxQuestions does, there would be no post for me to respond that way to.

In what way does Vroom give me so much freedom, and why shouldn't he? When have I responded to someone by being more insulting than they were to me?

It never ceases to amaze me when someone squawks and shits all over something and then wonders why it doesn't work for them anymore. You have been a troll for nearly your entire existance here. How can you expect everyone to treat you fairly?

I wish everyone would stop trying to rescue and save this troll (and stop replying to him), so PerlMonks can just move on.
I’m not defending them; I’m pointing out that you are a hypocrite. You’re not the innocent victim you keep claiming to be.

In what way does Vroom give me so much freedom?

It’s a very simple and straightforward argument that I put forth in my previous thread: LinuxQuestions would have banned you, which limits your ability to post. Vroom wouldn’t ban you, which does not limit your ability to post. Hence, Tim Vroom is giving you more freedom to post than LinuxQuesions.

        and why shouldn’t he?
I just say he does. His reasons are his own, and you’ll have to ask him if you want to know his motives.

When have I responded to someone by being more insulting than they were to me?

      • You say FU to Petruchio and he didn’t insult you.
      • You say the majority of perlmonk’s users suck and in chatterbox you have said that the majority of perlmonk’s users are maggot spit. The majority of perlmonk’s users haven’t ever insulted you. In fact a very small percentage have ever referred to you in any way.
      • You call Tim Vroom an asshole and I’ve never seen him even mention you.
