I was surfing and looking at the history of the P-38 can opener when I located a great site with a detailed history and technical section on the P38 can opener, www.dogtagsrus.com - from the main page select history and information. Be prepared the information is quite detailed and technical.

        currently, no one that I know of produces these in the US. I have a few originals still in the paper wrapper that came in the C-ration Cases with the 12 c- rat meals. You can see them at my website at: http://www.my-p38.com/ Truly one of the greatest little tools the Military ever came out with. I still have my original one I used while I served in Vietnam.
