The company I'm working for equipped me with OptiPerl. Unfortunately it's a commercial product, but it does on-the-fly syntax checking, syntax coloring and it even has a built-in run-time environment for cgi-scripts, including debugging capabilities.

    OptiPerl is great! It has all the specific features I was looking for. I will definitely be purchasing this. Thank you for your help.
