I was fortunate enough to be near enough to O'Reilly today so I stopped and was able to pick up a scratch copy of both Perl Testing and Perl Best Practices. I was told that both titles should be available in about two weeks.

I can't say enough about how nice the people on the front desk were. If only I were closer I'd probably get all my O'Reilly books there. And FWIW, I didn't see any copies of Make on their shelves, so I don't know if the magazine is purchasable there or not.

Useless trivia: In the 2004 Las Vegas phone book there are approximately 28 pages of ads for massage, but almost 200 for lawyers.

Some bookstores may take two weeks, but PBP landed on my desk this morning and Amazon says PTDN is shipping today...

A copy of Best Practices showed up on my doorstep on Tuesday. (along with a nice rut in my yard, where the UPS guy decided to turn around)

I'm guessing the two weeks is from the distributors having to ship to the chain bookstore's distribution systems, and then those stores needing to distribute it out to individual stores... the copy I have came straight from O'Reilly.

(And I'll have to thank TheDamian, as it was a curtesy copy from answering BBEdit questions)
