I was just thinking how cool it would be to be able to mark a node to show up in "My Favorites" so that I could mark certain nodes for reference, or so find them easier. This could also be a way to rank how popular a node is - how many people have added it to their "Favorites"..

What do you think?

Turn on your Personal Nodelet in Nodelet Settings. Then you can add a link for any node you are visiting using Add here in your Personal Nodelet.

Perl is Huffman encoded by design.

We already have a node popularity contest (the entire reputation system), and you can already add your favorite nodes to your homenode (see mine for example). I don't think this warrants any new coding, you should just use what's already there. :-)

I think that Free nodelet templates make scratchpads _freer is what you're looking for -- it explains how to have the Free Nodelet add links to your public (or private) scratch pad... Also, the Personal Nodelet has "Add to public pad" and "Add to private pad" links as well.

My spin on this: It would be interesting to harvest nodes from home pages, scratch pads, personal nodelets and see what people mention. Being able to specify a list of Monks to search through is what would make it worthy.

    Poor everything engine.

    Be well,

      rir,
I thought so too - see Homenode Surfing. I am also going to create another filter to only include homenodes with links. What constitutes "interesting" is ultimately a subjective decision so the end user still needs to spend time investigating each link.
