Enterprise software is software that is perceived as being useful only to (and is used exclusively by) mid- to large-scale enterprises.
And if you're feeling mischievous
A common characteristic of enterprise software is the (mostly mistaken) perception that its adoption per se will elevate the enterprise into a higher sphere of professionalism.
People will waste an awful amount of money if they think they can earn more by doing so.
