the whole point is not to name the beast. I like the idea of a $thingy :
(sub {... $thingy->(...) ... )->(args);
would suit me just fine. Oh well. I can live without it.

    It's been done.
    use Sub::Recursive; recursive { ... $REC->(...) ... }->(args)
