I will give you a shameless plug for Yet Another Perl Aptitude Test (yapat). It's a program that drills you on Perl functions. I know this is a small part of Perl, but it does allow you to have a high level of confidence on what the perlfuncs are for.

Lady_Aleena has been banging her head against this wall for years now with no success on breaking the wall.
