I'm a question answerer at work. Besides having an abundant amount of patience, I think the key to answering questions is the speed with which you can determine the actual question. If I'm busy at work, I will answer the questions that are asked of me. If I have some free time, then I answer the question the person meant to ask. More often than not, these are not the same questions.
Answering the correct question should, in the long run, reduce the overall amount of questions you are asked.
