this means:

open HAN, ( "It" || die "No file" );

so this will never fail as long as the string "IT" is true. If you really want to use ||, use parantheses around:

open( HAN, "It" ) || die "No file";

or use "or" instead (which is IMHO better readable:

open( HAN, "It" ) or die "No file";

I don't see that you've actually asked a question about Webmin...Perhaps ask again with some specific question? (I work with Webmin code every day. I can probably help.)

so my questions i want to make a subset of the webmin i want to make a web interface that makes me able to admin. any unix based systems ..... and i want
1-to get the webmin code
2-how can i read it so i can be able to distinguish the several modules from the code it self iam interested in three modules
1-User,Groups
2-System logs
3-Cron jobs
i would be thankful for any help
