Howdy! If you are reading a CSV file, the general case would allow newlines to be embedded in fields. chomp() is silly. Rolling your own is silly unless you need to do it as an exercise. Use the Module, Luke! Raising the CSV specter is a red herring in the context of discussing the appropriate use of chomp. yours, Michael	[reply]
