C:\data\tmp and C:\data\Perl\etc both exist. At first I thought it made no difference which package I try to install. The ones I tried and used Archive::Tar end with a similar error, but the ones which use Archive::Zip work! So there must be something wrong with the use of Archive::Tar as used by ActivePerl::PPM::Client. (See update 2 above) CountZero A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout.
