I really have been waiting anxiously for Perl 6 to be ready for release. It's been a very, very long time which goes to show that the community is not really behind it or have moved on to some other language (since it is the "community's rewrite" of Perl). Perl 6 is total vaporware :(

Why are you anxious? Do you fear Perl 6?

That's a fairly large conceptual leap from "it's been a long time" to "the community is not really behind it". I think it's more like "language design is hard". What's that you say? We already have Perl 5; it should be a hop-skip-and-jump to Perl 6? If you think that, then you don't understand the problem being solved.

I wouldn't call Perl 6 vaporware. To me, vaporware is something that's talked about, but no one is really working on. Perl 6 has quite a few real, actual people doing real, actual (volunteer!) work to make it come to life. When we all give up, then I'd say that it's vaporware.
