I personally believe that your concerns are understandable: I used to link directly to the youtube clip, and I've been accused of "youtube spamming." I'm now linking to that entry in my tumblelog, which if nothing else provides an explanation. And I'm not stopping this IPB thing anytime soon: call it a one-man-meme if you like. Littering the monastery with hyperlinks that have nothing to do with the subjects being discussed is not the mature thing to do. Consider putting it in your signature - then at least it would be less distracting.

I personally believe that as funny as it may seem, most (reasonable) people seemed not to have a problem with it. However I did never claim to be mature. Indeed I'm very immature, albeit in a very mature way. Anyway: partially following your suggestion, I'm casting the IPB incipit style in a form that will hopefully please most compulsive whiners too.
