Show amount of replies to root-nodes

Dear fellow monks,

I often check the Newest Nodes to see if there are any unanswered / poorly answered questions that I could answer. However, since, for instance, the Questions section does not show the amount of first-level replies to the node, I cannot be sure this question has not already been answered multiple times.

Therefore I suggest having a configuration option that triggers this behaviour (e.g. a column saying "Replies" with a number in every row). If this already exists, I was unable to find it, and I apologize.

In any case, I do understand that this option might prevent people from reading recent nodes and perhaps sharing some of their insight that they've got, and that it might therefore not be a good thing to have.

I am curious to hear what other monks think of this.

Thanks for reading.

Try Recently Active Threads rather than Newest Nodes. Rat shows the following summary information that you may find helps:

    +/-Legend

      Title [^1](AC:3/9/7)+/- [author]

Means: You "^"=up- or "v"=down-voted, "1"=reputation; "AC" from ( Front-paged, Approved, Unapproved, Considered, or link to Parent or Root ); Replies: "3" direct, "9" descendents, "7" recent, "+/-" shows/hides(uses javascript)

I had the foreboding feeling that there was something I had overlooked.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! This is exactly what I wanted.
