There's nothing like fresh peaches during that small window of perfect ripeness. You know, when you can pull it apart with your hands, pluck out the pit and slurp it down. Or if you like the taste of cardboard, you can buy them at the supermarket.

      Howdy!

Having grown up in South Jersey where peaches are a significant crop (along with tomatoes), I don't get a proper peach fix often, as the crap they sell in the supermarkets are not properly ripened. Yep, Lorings, in particular (a late season variety) are just heavenly.

Fresh peaches, nectarines, strawberries, real tomatoes. It's all good.

Is this a favorite fruit poll, or a favorite song poll? I love the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, but Raspberry is my favorite fruit (any time of year). I'm also tempted to vote Strawberry Fields Forever since I go to a restaurant named Strawberry Fields at least once per week.

That is why I voted "Raspberry Beret" instead of "Strawberry Fields Forever". I hate the Beatles, but love all red (forest) fruit.

OT: Yahoo Babelfish translates "bosvruchten" (Dutch) to "bunch fruits"

      Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn

I simply love cherry pancakes. Though admittedly I start with frozen pitted cherries rather than fresh ones (to avoid having to take the pits out).

Raspberry Beret, the kind you find in a second hand store.

If you ever get the chance to see Prince live, do so, especially if he is playing an 'after show' gig the same night.

      'after show'

Go on tell us, or perhaps not

What's so special about the Prince after show!

It is usually a post concert concert, where he plays as whatever he feels like for as long as he feels like.

I was lucky enough to see Prince at the 02 in London last year. The after show took place in a smaller (2000 capacity?) venue. He took the stage at around 1:10am and played until about 3:40am. Of course there is no guarantee that Prince will show up at all, or now long he will play for if he does, trust me, it is totally worth your time and money :)

There's nothing better than eating a lot of peaches during the summer, especially when they're perfectly ripe. It's my favourite summer fruit, absolutely delicious!

"Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon Wine" -- Tom T. Hall

Nothing like going to a farm stand or pick your own farm and selecting that perfect watermelon. An experienced watermelon picker can tell just from the sound of the thump when you hold the melon to your hear and knock on it on the other side. That perfect thump sound tells you that it is juicy and sweet.

Nuttin' like it in da whole world!

There is nothing better on a table on a hot summer day, than some melon, some watermelon and some haloumi cheese from Cyprus, a perfect meal!
