I just posted a simple method to Randomly select N lines from a file, on the fly, as a snippet since I wasn't able to find it anywhere else here on the site. Perhaps I just missed it -- hope I haven't duplicated any effort. It is a generalization of the "usual" trick for choosing 1 random line from a file, on the fly.
