in reply to CGI.pm HTML shortcuts

I use it for these reasons

  • It works EVERY TIME (unless you don't have the module, etc...) with no escaping of characters because that is all done, within the script.
  • It saves a lot of space that I don't have to type like the brackets and all the trash.
  • The sticky fields come in handy, often.
  • If the HTML tag doesn't already exist in the module, then you can just simply declare it on the command line and voila!
  • Makes it MUCH more readable regaurdless if it is uppercase or lowercase, brackets or slashes.

Just my .02 cents...

[Corion]: Weird - this "Install our backdoor SDK" spam is persistent. And I get the feeling it's not even automated, as it seems to be a re-forward of each mail, maybe even manually. Ah well, a quick rule in Thunderbird will move them to Spam automatically now :D
[Corion]: (the "backdoor SDK" is for distributing my software with an included backdoor, not for backdooring my own machine)
[marto]: ask for a trial
[marto]: then trick them into running your app
[marto]: once you have access, remove your email address from their system :P
[shmem]: why just that email address? why filtering?
