Perhaps I'm missing something, but wouldn't it be nice to have a shortcut to a man page on the web? For example:

Yes, I realize that there are many variants/versions of man pages, so it's not going to be spot-on perfect. Maybe look under one (or more) of these:

http://www.manpages.com
http://www.manpagez.com
http://www.linuxmanpages.com

Just an idea.

UPDATE: It has been implemented, as announced by jdporter. Kudos to Perlbotics who started Suggestion for new shortcut-tags: [man://] and [mskb://] and many others I have failed to mention.

Most likely, that's simply because no pmdevil has stepped up to implement it. That said, it would still need to be blessed by one of the gods, who are probably waiting for a pmdev to implement it, but no pmdev has enough of an itch from this to try it without having, basically, pre-approval from a god that it'll get applied. (Yes, there's a bit of a circle here.)

Tanktalus, I don't know whether to praise you for being able to explain the situation so eloquently, or shame you for failing to notice that there is already an unapplied patch, resulting from 720039.

        Maybe both? :-)

      Ah, thanks!

    Done. See announcement in Tidings.

Yay!++ And my OP automatically changed to reflect the new shortcut implementation. Thanks! :)
