Can You Say Automation?
I interfaced my Progeny Debian box with my Lutron Automated Lighting Controller using Perl. That with Apache, MySQL, Everything, and a homebrewed node, I can control every ACL light in my home via the web.

Damn nice, but every once in a while, I get a friend playing with my lights during the middle of the night. I still need to implement restrictions on the app rather than restrictions on the box.

I love Perl!

[SwaJime]: Ran into an interesting piece of code today ...
[SwaJime]: select name,status, status2 from __ where status & status < 13 and status2 & 16 <> 16
[SwaJime]: I'm thinking that looks messed up. Sorry for OT ... but I know y'all are smart :-)
[SwaJime]: I expected items to not be selected if status was 0 ... but they were selected
[SwaJime]: any thoughts?
