Wow, if you are going to spend your time criticizing aznd dengerating people with a long history of helping the community, and accusing them of not helping because they don't fit your narrow view of hwhat helping is, at least have the balls to not do it anonymously.
Your opinion isn't worth anything if you hide behind internet anonymity. I'm sure you wouldn't act like that to someones face.

      Do you find that wins people to your opinion often? I don't.

        Methinks that Anonimonk is not interested in winning over the people who he argues with. Methinks that Anonimonk is out to demonstrate how easily certain esteemed members of the Monastery will devolve to squabbling and ego-stroking when presented with obvious trollery. And like any good troll, Anonimonk has a very valid point - if you're not actively pushing Perl into the minds of others, you're not helping it gain presence in the programming community. Of course, all the Ruby, PHP, and Python developers used Perl, who would we all make fun of?
