Why do you use Perl?

  • I don't. I'm just on PerlMonks for the free beer
  • Because Larry's my dad, and he told me I had to
  • Perl is just chicken scratch anyway, so when I write all of my code using regex's, people actually think I know what I'm doing
  • Because Perl makes easy things easy, and hard things possible
  • I was told that if I use Perl, I'm allowed to be lazy, and lazy works for me
  • I really like the writing style of many of its books authors
  • ...what else is there?
  • easy to use, easy to understand
  • it has one of the best online communities anywhere

Steve
