Goto is almost required when you use the AUTOLOADer, as such:

sub AUTOLOAD {
    no strict 'refs';
    $AUTOLOAD =~ s/.*:://;

    *{ $AUTOLOAD } = sub { return ${ $AUTOLOAD }; };

    goto &{ $AUTOLOAD };
}
