I didn't suggest it to Kevin for YAPC this year for two reasons.
First, as you suggest, I didn't want to cannibalize the TPC
audience. But also because I ran
a poll on my web site
to find out what people most wanted to see at YAPC,
and the Program Repair Shop class lost out to
Stolen Secrets of the Wizards of the Ivory Tower.
Since I had given the Stolen Secrets class at TPC4 and there
was more demand for it at YAPC,
the choice was pretty clear. Program Repair Shop will
probably be at YAPC next year.
If you want to see it sooner,
there are at least two ways to do that: Get your local Perl Mongers
group to take up a collection to pay my travel expenses
to come to where you are, and I will give it for free.
(This is a great promotion for the group.)
Or get your employer to hire me to come to where you are
and give classes for their employees. (Send me email if this is a possibility.)
