"I don't know why you or others can't comprehend."

So the common denominator in all this is you. Either everyone else reading your posts has a problem, or you have a problem asking for help, reading documentation, learning how to use the technologies you've chose. One only has to look at your post history (here and on other sites you cross post on) to figure out which of these two scenarios is true. Part of the problem could be that English isn't your first language. Also if you are using this thread as an example, then anonymous monk asked a question in response to yours before providing any advice.

As previously explained many times over the years, the better you explain your problems, the easier they are for others to understand and advise on. If people ask for clarification (as with most of your posts) then you're doing something wrong. See I know what I mean. Why don't you? though I doubt you'll bother reading it or taking posting advice. Why change the habit now after so many years?

[thezip]: Is there an analogy for '&' (ie. run commandline process in background) for Windows commandline?
[Corion]: thezip: start "some title" path\to\that\ application, but that will open another console window
[Corion]: thezip: If you want to confuse your users, use system(1, "that\\command" );, which will make Perl launch it in the background
[Corion]: That will keep the console window open even though the user can't type into it anymore
