Posting all those "godfather" stuff on learning things, you kill opportunity for someone helping those guys.
And that's the kind of place this is. We very rarely write the code that someone asks for. We'd much rather guide the visitor or new member to the sources of information that they can use to answer their own question.
If someone else in your organization has the resources to develop a script to get this done (in Perl, awk or maybe even C), I'd go with that. If that's not possible, you'll have to do it yourself, or get an outside consultant to do it. And for that, we have http://jobs.perl.org/, since work-related postings are frowned upon here.
