in thread rough start of an axml compiler

I'm sorry but the prevailing message I'm getting over here is that I have to go and do a P.H.D in computing

If anyone really told you that you need to have a degree to program, they need to be taken out back to the woodshed to get some manners beaten into them.

I'm self taught as well. The last school I graduated from was Junior High (9th grade) and my first computing job was at a university keeping the computers safe and sound for the PhDs. I've never been hassled about my "lack of formal education" anywhere, let alone here. In fact, they even made me a "saint".

The reason is that, at one level, degrees are basically meaningless. A CS degree says you should have a theoretical understanding of computing but what really matters are things like depth of knowledge, insight, and experience, not where you did your learning.

To be honest, I've heard a lot of PhDs say really stupid things, but I've heard a lot say really smart things. The same is true for us self educated folks.

No one here told him that, its pure fabrication -- he considers such rude remarks and other such vulgarity , lively debate
