Creating a chat box

Hello monks, I would like to create a simple chat box. I am new to the server side programming of perl. How shall I proceed?

    I'd use Google with search terms like 'perl chat application source' and look at the first few entries. Perhaps follow it up with 'perl client server example'. A little searching can go a long way.
