That is the job of an editor.

Use either Vim, or, to ensure this isn't an editor war, Emacs.

      In vim (vi improved) command mode, type

      :split
      Change the active section with <Ctrl>w<Ctrl><w> in command mode.

      i.e. If you're using emacs pulse both the keys control+X, release, and then pulse "2"
