"Last here" anomaly

by Athanasius (Chancellor)
on Oct 13, 2012 at 04:14 UTC ( #998816=monkdiscuss: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Canon bart’s post Re^4: "deinistall" DateTime is timestamped Oct 13, 2012 at 10:58 EST. But his home node is showing: Last here: Oct 05, 2012 at 06:46 EST (1 week ago) as I post this (which is 2012-10-13 04:12:39 Z according to Tick tock).

Is there an update problem in the PerlMonks database? (This is the only such anomaly I have observed.)

Probably not. There is a PerlMonks feature to remain hidden from "Other Users" by not updating "Last here" field. OTOH I don't know if bart is using that feature.

Interesting. I’ve looked through the various options in the nodes linked-to in the Settings Nodelet, but I can’t find this feature. Where is it hiding?

Update: Thanks to Anonymous Monk-with-update-privileges for the links!

Lady_Aleena just followed @metacpan on Twitter.
[atcroft]: I may just post a question about it later. *shrug*
[Lady_Aleena]: I wish I could have helped you further but I've never uploaded to cpan or metacpan so I don't know much.
[Lady_Aleena]: If metacpan had a pod checker too, I could check a pod I wrote with a module link there.
