No, that's Haskell. Perl's
the gruff, impatient first-year prof who's nevertheless
beloved by most of his class (the get-a-degree-get-a-job
types don't like him, because he won't tell them what's
going to be on the final) and seems frighteningly competent
in every specialization you (or he) can think of. (And
yes, I had such a prof -- several, in fact.)
