My advice to you is to start sifting through obfuscated posts and figuring out how they work. After you have parsed 4 or 5 of them you should be able to start coming up with some of your own. Thats the joy of Obfuscation... figuring out how to do it well! There are lots of great examples here.
I've now updated this post with links to many great examples of obfuscation here in the monastery. Enjoy!

Okay, first... its my post, and it wouldn't be right to include my own work in my list of great examples, so here are my posted obfuscations:

Now on to the really good stuff:

Also check out the tutorials from Japhy (japhy's Obfuscation Review) and autark (Unobfuscated obfuscated perl course).

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
