One of the resident monks is the winner of the 2nd Annual TPJ Perl Poetry Contest. I promose that he being a Perl Monk had nothing to do with my judging :) He just got megapoints for it being a Tolkien port (and my liking of it in general).

UPDATE: Mr. First Place (Erudil) just told me that Mr. Second Place is also a Perl Monk, andreychek. Obviously, since this wasn't know, it had no bearing on judging.

Cheers,
KM

    Fine art!
What strikes me, though, is that Kevin Meltzer seems way ahead of the time: the document states it's from October 2001 and to quote my computer:

    *grin*

And the winner brings up a few other thoughts:

    • is there a tengwar mode for writing perl? ((x)emacs support would be nice)
    • what about rewriting The Camel in Cirth and carving it into stone?
    • is there a version of perl which doesn't use English words but Quenya for it's statements?
    ;-)

    Regards... Stefan
you begin bashing the string with a +42 regexp of confusion

Ha! I would normally say that I was bored of this month so I set all my clocks ahead to get to December more quickly (to celebrate my birthday).. but alas, the date was really put there by CMP since the issue is/was to come out in October.

      Cheers,
