Parsing SpreadsheetML

davemabe has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

What is the best way to parse a SpreadsheetML file with Perl? I've tried Spreadsheet::ParseExcel but I get "No Excel data found in file" when I try to parse the file.

Spreadsheet::ParseExcel is for older XLS97 (?) files, not the newer XML-based format. Try Spreadsheet::XLSX instead. The cake is a lie. The cake is a lie. The cake is a lie.	[reply]
