in reply to "They've got a cave troll!"

You know that a separate thread about troll feeding counts as a meta win for the trolls, don't you?

downvote everyone who feeds the troll attention.
So, you're saying I should downvote your post?

You're not thinking this through very well. Trolls crave direct, interactive attention. My OP is an indirect response. So is downvoting. Think a troll is going to stick around if the only response it gets are downvotes? Or even if I posted the OP a couple times a week? Especially if I took the names out and put in the best tricks for hiding nodes, etc?

Bottom line, is if other Monks listen and start ignoring ALL of its posts, then odds are better the troll will leave (or adjust behavior). And if not, then this post is just a drop in the bucket compared to torrential rain from the people who actually directly respond to him it. [<--- Gah!! Such a ghastly mistake!!!
