Oh-- you really want to know do you. I started using perl - to document a large c++ code base - generating html - that was kind of like --- javadoc. At the time I'm not sure if it made anybody happy or not --- then I worked at a large insurance company doing CGI --- but that company was transformed by management - to java for their web development - I thought at the time JPL might work --- but we went whole hog with websphere - java. There was no chance that they would let perl - remain - and all the " real " perl developers left, but I stayed and developed their first large java http - application. Now --- I'm relearning perl - because ??? --- well, the because is a bit sketchy --- I think it's because I just went through a lot of c# and I got re-fractured --- fell into that dark hole - where you should be able to suspend your disbelieve - but you can't. Maybe, it was just too much bad code and I wanted to start fresh --- and I thought I could --- and that's why I'm here, now.
