    The stock answer to such questions is to read the FAQ. But I think it's an interesting question. I recently stumbled across JavaJunkies.org, which has a superficial similarity to the monastery, but appears almost deserted. Obviously, establishing a community of like-minded brethren takes some dedication (and, I suspect, a little luck).

    Many monks will need to use other languages in the course of their work. Have any ever been called to missionary work, attempting to set up communities for other languages? Have any such attempts succeeded?
