I'm in now way "justifying or, better, we'll say, ameliorating, US foreign policy". In fact I condemn it totally.

Then your arguments and reading were as sloppy as your insult. The US is winning the "unity" war. I said, if the US were divided into smaller units, it would have better things to do and wouldn't have the resources or inclination to bully the world and steer and coerce its financial institutions. You said unity would magically fix everything because it's a property of unity despite the fact that every large scale attempt at it has ended in democide numbers that dwarf the Holocaust.

I apologize for taking one more turn. You can really have the last word now because I'm getting splinters in my feet from this soapbox.

    (Update: reworded last sentence.)

I refrained from voting until now, but this post I have to. You will not diminish the Holocaust in my presence. Nothing, you hear me? Nothing compares to the Holocaust. Nothing compares to the industrialized destruction of my people and family, executed by my fellow countrymen.

Just when I thought I was out... he pulls me back in.

You do not get to put words in my mouth with your slip-shod, subjective interpretations. You were the one implying 100 million dead is no big deal and refusing to address that it is where your political view has led while calling me an idiot. I never in my life for microsecond diminished the deaths of the 6 million Jews in the camps if that is what you're talking about. I do notice that the 5 million who died alongside are often left out when discussing the tragedy as apparently we're leaving out all the Ukrainians and Chinese and, hey, let's add Armenians since that apparently never even happened according to some political entities. To you, it's apparently nothing or shouldn't even be allowed to be mentioned since one time something horrific happened to your tribe. Every single death at the hands of injustice and state tyranny bothers me, one or a million, and I've donated money and spoken out against it my whole adult life; regardless of race, religion, gender, or creed. There is no tribalism whatsoever in my politics . I find those who think that way disgusting and I'd rather be the stupidest person in history than one of them.

        >  Nothing compares to the Holocaust.

I disagree if this means comparison is forbidden.

If you want to avoid future atrocities you need to soberly analyse history.

I've seen far too often historical crimes neglected with the words " nothing compared to the Holocaust".

This is certainly not meant to excuse Nazi extermination camps.

Hah! Tell that to the indigenous people of the Americas or Australia. Tell that to the children in Gaza.

Your world view is not only dangerously naive, but also very myopic.
