Dedicated Server Host with up to date Perl

johnfl68 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello:

Can anyone recommend a Dedicated Server Host, that has an up to date version of Perl?

I thought I had found a good host, only to find that the version of Perl installed is over 6 years old.

This seems to be the case most places, as everyone is using cPanel.

I need a host that can handle 1TB on up of traffic, at a reasonable rate.

I've been trying PerlBrew in the meantime, but I seem to have hit a wall with Image::Magick which is keeping me from getting much further right now.

Thanks for any insight as always!

John

While Efficito specializes in a Perl-based ERP hosting, we can rent VM's and servers with whatever you need. Servers are not unmetered regarding bandwidth, but for a dedicated server, the inclusive traffic is well above your requirements.

But I am not here just to spam you, honest. If you want our help with things like backups, monitoring, etc, we will charge more than our costs, but if you want just a barebones dedicated hosting provider with good access, I would highly recommend the folks we go through. We have yet to find anyone with better service and lower costs and have been extremely happy with the results so far. The question is what you need. If Efficito's services are overkill, definitely highly recommend going through Hetzner.

How did you try to install Image::Magick? e.g. Did you follow these steps? You'd need
    ./configure --with-perl=/path/to/the/perlbrew/perl/binary
to tell it to use your newer version of Perl when building the library.
