(humor) Doctor Fun, would you please take the stand?

It has long been suspected, your honor, that the defendant has been a lurking AnonyMonk.   A substantial body of strongly supporting evidence has been amassed that does indeed confirm this suspicion.   Articles one through forty are hereby presented to the court.

(hands large manilla envelope to bailiff)

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, this damning evidence proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the guilt of the defendent, one mister David Farley.

Your honor, if I am *right*,
there will be within seven days...
a new Doctor Fun cartoon...

(pregnant pause)

Cheese, I tell you!! (pounds fist against table for emphasis)

Thanks for touching up on my ancestral roots, Mr. Prosecutor. I'm not exactly positive on the exact time the photo was taken, but it does appear to be that of my late grand grand grand ... father. However murderous beast he was, he had a sharp sense of humor and a bright mind. I'm pleased some of it carried over to myself, the younger Vlad. Clearly, some of my obfuscations and JAPHs are a work of a Perl mad man. ;-)

As for the accused, I do blame Cheese.

note: I actually love the Dr-Fun commic. This is a hilarious post, ybic! ;_). (I ran out of all of my votes today, but will sure give a ++ the first thing tomorrow)

You could write a book on the goings-on of this monestary, so I'm not that surprised that a cartoonist looks towards those wacky, crazy PerlMonks!

These cartoons are pretty damn funny...

[Corion]: ... but that simplicity falls down due to SQLite letting me down and me being too lazy to move to a real DB. Maybe DBD::CSV can handle window functions...
[hippo]: Pg has the "trust" mechanism if you don't fancy using credentials for a trivial db.
[Corion]: hippo: Oooh, that sounds quite nice - let me read the documentation on that :)
[hippo]: https://www. docs/current/ static/auth- methods.html#AUTH- TRUST
[erix]: or compile & run an instance as yourself (not user 'postgres')
[erix]: easiest setup is to run with PG* env variables set, and a custom .pgpass files (can be a $PGPASSFILE)
[Corion]: Hmm - "trust" sounds interesting, but I have still to find whether I can restrict that on a per-DB level ;)
[Corion]: erix: Sure, but SQLite doesn't even need that :)
[hippo]: Corion: Yes, you can. It's all in the pg_hba.conf
[erix]: yeah, but there is a lot SQLite cannot do :)
