Personal Nodelet change

by vroom (Pope)
on Aug 09, 2000 at 00:39 UTC ( #26891=monkdiscuss: print w/ replies, xml ) Need Help??

Previously the personal nodelet was saving stuff by title not id. Now when you add things they'll be added by id. I need to update the user settings page to make a little more sense. Do you just want links next to the remove links in place of text boxes?

kudra alerted me to this fact. Now that it has been fixed you can do the add/remove dance on your personal nodelet/user settings pages so you can save yourself the grief of having to deal with future name collisions.

When I tried to remove the second item on my personal faqlet, it removed all the entries below it as well :-(

RE: Personal Nodelet change (link better than text box)(PM bug?)

    Fwiw, I like the changes.
Having "links instead of text box" is an additional improvement, above and beyond the "id instead of title" tweak.

Kudos to kudra and to vroom.

Update: there *may* be a bug in Personal Nodes change.   Now my Change User Settings won't remove any Personal Node entries.   Check "remove" boxes and click "submit".   Page refreshes, yet same boxes are still checked and entries still exist.

Update 2: I experienced the same thing, Nuance, while my Personal Nodelet entries were still mixed between "named" and "links".   I deleted all "named" and recreated as "links", to find myself unable to delete any.
