( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Hi monks,

Perl has transformed me.

Perl hasn't made me any richer, but it has turned my world upside down, positively :)

My previous job was but anything to do with programming. Over the years, I've learnt more and more about Perl in my leisure and become more certain of what I could do with it.

I developed a website in Perl. It's still at its infancy and it's probably amatuerish.

I wouldn't be comfortable with doing it in any other language, due to my lack of formal training in programming. With Perl, knowing just the tip of it does enable you to get the job done. I can't say that of other languages - Java and C++, for example, in which I had some exploratory experience.

So, in what ways has Perl helped you?

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
