validating the command line input

Rash_10oct has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

hiii... I am a newbie to this forum and perl script as well. i was wondering how to validate the command line input.. for e.g...i want to check that if the file entered by the user is valid, then the script should perform its action. otherwise a message "please enter a valid file name" should be displayed. Please suggest..

Getopt::Long or Getopt::Std may help. or This page Google found -Kiel	[reply]

For that type of problem, I'd used Damian Conway's Getopt::Euclid.	[reply]
