University graduate in Computer Science, master of Avoiding Work, worked for an Italian cooperative which specializes in Web-DB interfaces and computer support to historic archives. They use Python, and Delphi (oh, the horror), but I was the local Perl and XML "guru", so I usually worked with Perl and XSLT. After helping start a software consulting firm in 2005, I went to work for the Italian R&D office of Ask.com, and I'm still there. At home I have a dual-Athlon (2x2400+MP) on a Gigabyte based on AMD-760MPX, running Gentoo Linux. You can look at my main website (italian and english), made with an unholy mixture of XML/XSLT and Makefiles. I was at YAPC::Europe 2001 in Amsterdam, 2002 in Munich, 2003 in Paris, 2004 in Belfast, 2005 in Braga, 2006 in Birmingham, 2007 in Vienna. I'll be in Copenhagen, too We organized the first Italian Perl Workshop in 2004: I was in the organizing committee, I talked about Unicode and Perl, and I hosted the auction. In 2005 we organized the second Italian Perl Workshop using the Act framework, and in 2006 we went to three. After a pause in 2007, we're working on the fourth workshop. |
