in thread Inserting Current time and date into an HTML file.

I don't want to fish for answers instead i want to know how things are done. Please if you can't guide anyone , don't discourage them.

Wouldn't you rather do things, try things out?

Remember Re: Inserting Current time and date into an HTML file.? Is my response discouraging? It contains a small error, but you wouldn't know unless you tried it -- not trying it says you're not interested in learning

Remember parse xml and trigger function modules., was my response discouraging? Your question being a FAQ I was interested to see where you were stuck, to see if you were interested in learning, but your response signaled you weren't exactly interested in learning, only in being taught solutions

Your question is basically  [ddg://ant insert date time javadoc] but your apparent first move is to ask the perlmonks -- doesn't demonstrate an interest in learning. You've used nice language and maybe you are interested but my experience hints otherwise. I think it is important not to discourage those providing answers (* * * *).

Takes about 5 minutes to go through these searches and find tstamp

ant insert date time javadoc -> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9275473/how-can-an-ant-build-file-insert-the-version-number-in-the-generated-javadocs

ant insert date time javadoc -> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5613847/remove-the-comment-generated-by-javadoc-on-date-time-in-generated-javadoc

ant javadoc insert-timestamp -> Java Practices -> Use Ant for build scripts

ant javadoc insert-timestamp -> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1472301/output-timestamp-in-ant

ant javadoc tstamp -> http://ant.apache.org/manual/, http://ant.apache.org/manual/Tasks/tstamp.html

Can you use tstamp for this? Maybe, but I did not Try It To See

This is of course assuming you're interested in learning about ant

If you're interested in learning about perl, you'll have to read perlintro#Files and I/O -- for some reason I thought you've read that already
