I am not a server specialist, so I am not the right Monk to comment on that aspect of your code. One thing I am curious about is why you commented out use strict; use warnings;? CountZero A program should be light and agile, its subroutines connected like a string of pearls. The spirit and intent of the program should be retained throughout.
