path name & file name

puchku has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

i am trying to call a perl script from vb and i found a sample code that mentioned path name and file name of the called program(in this case perl)

file name should be the path where my perl program is residing.....so my question is what will be the path name for perl??

    pathname would be the path to where the file resides, while filename would be the name of the file itself.
    Just as the name implies.
