Are there stats as far as posts/quality of posts over time?
I have kept up to date this summary of best nodes reputation from 2007 onwards which shows that the node reputation of best nodes of the month steadily decreased from 83-135 votes in March 2007 down to 46-65 votes in Dec 2011. It has been remarkably stable since then: in Dec 2012 it was 47-64 votes, today it is 40-64 votes.

Yep. It seems that the average votes per node is going down year by year. The earlier you got into the XP game, the higher your votes per post. XP awards are tied to an average of all posts though, the $NORM value. Today it is 4.8, I remember it being in the mid 5s a year ago.
